At the beginning of World War II, the Dominican Republic was one of the few places of refuge for Jews who fled Europe from the Nazi regime. The island state, ruled by dictatorship at the time, enabled them to start a new life as part of an agricultural settlement project. This lecture gives an insight into the remembrance work of the subsequent generations of settlers, which is shaped in a variety of ways across generations and across borders.
