Welcome to the Faculty Center for Transdisciplinary Historical and Cultural Studies
The Faculty Center for Transdisciplinary Historical and Cultural Studies (FakZen THKS) opened on 1 October 2020 at the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies. As the core of a teaching and research network, it strengthens the diversity of the faculty’s 15 departments. It explores innovative inter- and transdisciplinary concepts and hosts collaborative events. It also aims to increase cross-faculty dialogue and generates cooperation with national and international academia. The Center analyzes current social issues within their historical and cultural context and opens new research perspectives for the faculty’s disciplines. The three chairs (so called bridge professorships) cover distinct research perspectives: Cultural Heritage, Historical Transregional Studies, and Public History.
