Prof.in Mag.a Dr.in Dietlind Hüchtker

Chair of Historical Transregional Studies 

Dietlind Hüchtker holds the chair of Historical Transregional Studies at the Faculty Center for Transdisciplinary Historical and Cultural Studies since October 2020. Before, she worked at the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO) for many years where she coordinated numerous projects. She held several visiting and substitute professorships, including the Käthe Leichter Visiting Professorship at the University of Vienna. Her main research interests include the history of spaces, interdisciplinary gender studies, transregional rurality, as well as the transregional history of knowledge and science.

She initiated the international and interdisciplinary research network “Work – Love – Violence. Rural Societies and New Research Perspectives" and is involved in the international working group "Political Epistemologies in (Eastern) Europe". At the University of Vienna, she collaborates with the research areas “Economy and Society from a Historical and Cultural Studies Perspective” and “Women's and Gender History” and works as a supervisor at the Vienna Doctoral School of Historical and Cultural Studies.
