Gäste: Beáta Hock (Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO), Leipzig / Käthe Leichter Guest Professor) discussing with Georg Schöllhammer (tranzit.at), Dean Vuletic (Research Center for the History of Transformations), and Yuka Kadoi (Department for Art History).

Wann und Wo? 22. November 2021, 18:30-20:00

UPDATE: Due to the new Corona guidelines, the discussion will be held online only! Please register here.

The engagement with art objects and cultural practices has the capacity to bring about innovative contributions to various other branches of historical scholarship. Such explorations inevitably transcend the disciplinary compartmentalisation of knowledge; artistic and curatorial research are well capable of also winding down boundaries between academia and the world “out there”. Discussion participants will draw on experience from their varying research fields to reflect on interdisciplinarity as a knowledge-seeking strategy and the promise of combining it with transnational approaches and collaborative working methods.
